EU governments are taking action against a shipping company in Dubai that transports Russian oil.
Brussels. The birth of the tenth package of sanctions against Russia was difficult. After several delays, representatives of EU governments came closer on Friday to putting together the biggest package to date of 11 billion euros. At the time of printing, no agreement had been reached. Pressure was exerted by both the EU Commission and the US, who launched another sanctions package on the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
More recently, EU ambassadors only argued intensely about exceptions to the Russian rubber import ban. Poland blocked the package because of planned exceptions, which Italy would have granted.
