Former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has divorced her husband Markus Raikkonen. The now ex-spouses announced their decision with an Instagram story, which both published identically on their profile. “We filed for divorce by mutual consent. We are grateful to each other for these 19 years spent together and our beloved (five-year-old, editor’s note) daughter. We will remain friends,” read the profiles of the couple, who embarked on the marriage path three years ago, in 2020, when Marin, as Prime Minister of Finland, was dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. “We will continue to spend time together as a family and with each other. We hope you will respect our privacy. We will not comment further on the matter, ”it always says in the two Instagram stories. A year before the wedding, Marin had become the youngest prime minister in the world at just 33. She had taken over the helm of Finland and led a centre-left coalition in which five women led five different parties. As a result of decisions made during his tenure, historically neutral Finland joined NATO. In the last elections, Marin gave way to the conservative coalition.
