One of the big surprises of the final list of the Peruvian team for the double date of the 2026 qualifiers against Chile and Argentina is Santiago Ormeno. The naturalized Peruvian-Mexican striker returns to the Bicolor after more than a year. At the Aztec airport, he revealed that he had not had any contact with his national strategist but was pleased about the summons.
“I haven’t been there for a year, but I’m sure there is a great group and Professor Reynoso is a great coach. This is just the beginning, but we have to add up because then things will go up,” Ormeño told the media. He then added: “No approach as such, he just called me and knows me as a job.
