Santos presented this Friday (05) a club uniform and another Pelé jersey to Roberto Fernández, son of Roberto Bolaños, who played the character Chaves. The beloved “Chaves” loved football and was a fan of Peixe and the eternal King Pelé. Bolaños' son was introduced at the opening of “Chaves: The Exhibition,” which pays homage to the series' 40th anniversary in Brazil.

Pelé almost took up a film with the characters from the Chaves series, but in the end it didn't work out. The king, the greatest idol in Santos and the Seleção history, came close to joining the cast of the series at the World Cup in Mexico in the 1970s. In a 1992 episode where Chaves goes to the cinema, the character complains about the ongoing film and the Brazilian dub of “It was better to have seen Pelé's film” was flagged.

During Bolaños' visit to Brazil, he was presented with a Brazilian team jersey with Pelé's signature. “Chaves” died in November 2014, King Pelé in December 2022. Florinda Meza García, Bolaños' wife and “Dona Florinda”. The series even mourned the death of Eterno Number 10.

I feel like my beloved Brazilians… no words, Pelé was a football legend. I wish you were with my Rober today, kicking him with a balloon and celebrating an eternal goal together. @Skin pic.twitter.com/ZYHUiXXCbj
