In early May, we learned that Kim Cattrall had reprized her role as Samantha Jones on Sex and the City for a guest appearance in the Season 2 finale of And Just Like That.

In an interview with The New Yorker, Sarah Jessica Parker broke the silence and revealed that series director Michael Patrick King “begged” her not to talk about her ex-co-star’s looks. However, she confirmed it with an unequivocal, “I’m in the scene.”

The cameo scene will reportedly feature a phone call between Samantha and Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker. Kim Cattrall would have shot the film alone in a garage without the presence of her partners or Michael Patrick King.

In an interview with the Chron, Sarah Jessica Parker added: “We really thought about how to approach the characters that were gone, how to bring the actors back and that was really fun, exciting and certainly nostalgic , but more.” Otherwise, it was mostly cheerful. »

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall starred alongside Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis in Sex and the City between 1998 and 2004 and in two theatrical sequels in 2008 and 2010. However, they are said to have been cold as Kim Cattrall refused to to work on a third film and that she was not invited to work on And Just Like That…

Commenting on their alleged feud, Sarah Jessica Parker said, “It’s very strange to hear that we’re fighting.” I would never badmouth Kim. I will never. »

“We felt like she made it clear to us that she didn’t want to reprise that character,” Sarah Jessica Parker told the New Yorker of Kim Cattrall’s absence.

And Just Like That… returns to American television Thursday.
