Scarlett Johansson’s husband refused to help her
Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost met in 2006 while filming an episode of SNL. It was Johansson’s first hosting, and at the time Colin Jost was a writer on the NBC variety show. Jost is now an actor and writer and has received 11 Primetime Emmy nominations for his work. The two started dating around 2017 and married in 2020. The couple is generally quite private about their lives, only making public appearances when absolutely necessary.

With that in mind, the Black Widow actress gave fans a little peek into her marriage. She recently appeared on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Podcast and spoke about the unique struggles she has faced with her husband. She was filming for Black Widow and asked Jost to help her rehearse a few lines. Her husband flatly refused, horrified at finding any film spoilers during rehearsals.
“But he doesn’t like spoilers so I can’t tell him anything. And he doesn’t even sniff. When we were shooting this film in London, Colin was also shooting Tom & Jerry – which worked out great because we were in the same city together for a long time, which is rare.”
Marvel productions are known for being extremely secretive when it comes to upcoming projects. It’s almost impossible for any kind of leak to happen (unless Tom Holland is involved). Jost had the opportunity to learn Black Widow spoilers that very few people had access to. But the writer-actor did everything to avoid that, even if it meant not helping his wife.

Black Widow: Hit or Flop?
For nearly a century, Hollywood knew instantly if a movie was a hit or a flop. Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing with it the mess nightmare known as the hybrid release. The new ecosystem is complicated and much more nuanced.
Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow (2021)
The film earned $67 million worldwide through Disney+ Premier Access during its opening weekend, when Disney+ had approximately 110 million subscribers. For comparison, Mulan made $90 million through Premier Access in its first two weeks, when Disney+ only had around 60.5 million subscribers, according to The Information.
Black Widow was a commercial success that couldn’t quite match the standard Marvel blockbuster of the past five years. But with the streaming service being Disney’s top priority, the overall Black Widow makes it a win.
