Scholz, Putin responsible for war crimes in Ukraine Last Hour

(ANSA) BERLIN, APRIL 19 Russian President Vladimir Putin “takes responsibility” for “war crimes” committed in Ukraine. This was stated by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who then condemned the new Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine and confirmed that NATO would not intervene in the conflict.

Scholz said the war had entered a new phase and Ukraine’s suffering left no one indifferent, according to the dpa. “We feel infinite sadness for the victims and it must also be said great anger at the Russian President and this senseless war,” said Scholz after a video conference with the heads of state and government of the partner countries as well as NATO and EU leaders. In addition to repeating that NATO would not intervene in the conflict, Scholz also reiterated that “German individual initiatives would be wrong”, presumably with reference to the export of heavy weapons to Ukraine.
