The Seahawks have named quarterback Sean Mannion and safety Ty Okada from the practice squad ahead of Monday night's game against the Eagles.
They give the Seahawks additional depth at their respective positions, with quarterback Geno Smith and safety Jamal Adams both listed as questionable for the game.
Smith missed last week's game with a groin injury, which led to Drew Lock making his first start as a Seahawk. Smith was able to practice on a limited basis all week, and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Smith “made it through the week. He made it with the work he put in. He is still questionable and we will wait and see what happens on match day.”
Adams had a limited workload throughout the season due to the quadriceps tendon tear that ended his 2022 season, but this week he did not participate in practice on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
“He's a great player and I'm trying to maximize his recovery and make sure he's available to us as much as possible,” Carroll said of Adams. “So we helped him as best we could this week.”
Mannion, who spent time in Seahawks training camp two seasons ago and was on the practice squad last season, signed with Seattle last week and served as Lock's backup in the game against the 49ers last weekend. Okada, an undrafted rookie out of Montana State, was also selected for Seattle's Week 11 game against the Rams.
