Searchlight Pictures sends three more films – “Isle of Fire”; Good luck Leo Grande; and Not Okay – immediately on Hulu.
As Searchlight dives deeper into streaming with Hulu originals, Andrew Ahn’s romantic comedy Fire Island, a contemporary gay version of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice starring Joel Kim Buster, Bowen Yang and Margaret Cho, will debut on Hulu on June 3rd and internationally on June 3rd. Disney+.
Sophie Hyde’s sex comedy Good Luck Leo Grande, starring Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack, hits Hulu on June 17th. exclusive streaming on Hulu in the US market.
And Not Alright, directed and written by Quinn Shepherd and starring Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien, will release on Hulu on August 5 and will also air internationally on Disney+ as a Star Original.
Disney-owned Searchlight as a specialty label is increasingly shipping movies from its movie pipeline to Hulu as a sister brand to family Disney+ as it becomes home to more adult fare from Disney brands.
Searchlight previously picked Fresh, which stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan, ahead of its Sundance debut and set a Hulu release date of March 4. Searchlight also gave Oscar winner Chloe Zhao Nomadland a hybrid release in theaters and on sister company Hulu in the midst of a pandemic and amid widespread theater closures.
