Seats from Toronto’s Rogers Center were thrown in the trash

Hundreds of Rogers Center seats were found stacked among other abandoned items in a junkyard north of Toronto.

Images of these piles of bluish metal scrap found in Gormley went viral on Reddit. The author told CTV News he was surprised the seats weren’t auctioned, CP24 reported Wednesday.

This blue gear from the Toronto Blue Jats’ den could not be restored due to its age, while the baseball club announced a $30 million stadium renovation plan last summer that removed more than 17,000 seats before work began.

The Blue Jays’ home stadium has been remodeled in recent months after thousands of stadium seats were ripped out and ended up in a trash bin that serves as their cemetery.

This blue mountain of used seats commemorates the history of the Minirail de la Ronde, one of the last remnants of the Expo 67 amusement park that was secretly demolished last fall.
