The second “black box‘ or Data Recorder (FDR) was recovered this Sunday, March 27, at the scene of the accident of flight MU5735 China Eastern Airlines, operated by a Boeing 737-800. The plane’s fall and impact on terrain in the mountainous area in Tengxian, Guangxi, southeast China, killed 132 people.
The data recorder is sent to Beijing, as is the voice recorder (CVR) found on the morning of March 23. With this set of shockproof devices, they will reveal to investigators what happened on March 21 at 06:22 with greater accuracy than they will Boeing 737-800 China Eastern Airlines registration B-1791 fell to the ground from an altitude of 29,000 feet (cruising altitude).

The purpose of the aircraft data and voice recorder is to know the sound in the cockpit, that is, all conversations between the crew and air traffic control. While the data recovers parameters of vital importance such as the engine system, aircraft attitude, speeds and inputs from the control surfaces that were manipulated by the pilots in the cockpit.
When the Boeing 737-800, registration B-1791, hit the ground, it left a 20 meter deep crater and the debris was scattered in a 30 meter radius. In fact, a piece just over 1 meter long was about 6 nautical miles from the impact, suggesting that parts had previously become detached during the fall.
Given the circumstances of this accident, several versions have come to light while strengthening the theory that it could be a case of suicide by one of the pilots, while China Eastern Airlines confirms that the plane meets all airworthiness standards and that the three pilots are well prepared and were physically and mentally healthy. This was one of the worst accidents in the last decade in aviation history in China, one of the most organized aviation countries.
In the coming weeks, investigators from the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) are expected to release a preliminary report on the events of March 21, finally ending the speculation and uncovering the facts thanks to CVR and FDR.
