Second black box found from crashed plane in China

Chinese rescuers this Sunday found the second black box of the China Eastern Airlines plane that crashed March 21 in the mountains in the south of the country with 132 people on board, state media reported.

“The second black box of China Eastern flight MU5735 was recovered on March 27,” China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

According to the researchers, the second black box stores flight data such as speed, altitude and route covered.

Local media reported last Wednesday that rescuers had found the Boeing 737’s first black box. The device contains the conversations in the cabin.

The accident flight was covering the Kunming (southwest) – Canton (south) route when it crashed into a forested area of Wuzhou in southern China.

Authorities are keeping an investigation open to determine the causes of the incident.

Hu Zhenhong, deputy head of China’s Civil Aviation Administration, told a news conference Saturday night that all 132 people on board the crashed plane, all Chinese nationals, died in the accident.

“All 123 passengers and nine crew members on board China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735, which departed on March 21, died,” Hu said.
