The number of Americans killed by Hamas terrorists in Israel has now reached 25, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Thursday.
Hamas terrorists based in the Gaza Strip entered Israel for the first time on Saturday, carrying out a surprise multi-front attack that killed 1,200 Israelis in less than a week. Thousands more are injured and hostages are still being held in Palestinian territory.
When President Joe Biden’s State Department head arrived in Israel on Thursday morning, he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “We are with you and we are not going anywhere.”
“Thank you very much,” Netanyahu replied.

The updated death toll of 25 comes after it was announced on Wednesday that the number of Americans killed in Hamas atrocities had reached at least 22. There are still thousands of US citizens missing in Israel.
On his peace mission to Israel, Blinken will be accompanied by his deputy chief of staff Tom Sullivan, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, deputy secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf, special representative for Palestinian affairs Hady Amr and deputy special presidential envoy for hostage issues Steve Gillen .
