According to information obtained by the Journal late Saturday, the two negotiating bodies were finally able to agree on the working conditions of the health network's employees.

This basic agreement hypothesis will be presented to the delegates of the FSSS-CSN unions as soon as possible, “although there will also be a basic agreement hypothesis for the central table,” stated a union representative.

However, no date has been set at this time. “The workers will have the final say,” our sources specify.

Despite this encouraging news just hours before Christmas, there are still many negotiations to be carried out over salary issues that need to be resolved in order to avoid an indefinite general strike by the Common Front at the beginning of 2024.

Therefore, general meetings to present the results of negotiations should be held when there is a fundamental agreement for both the sector table and the central table.

Union officials confirmed to the Journal earlier Saturday that the Common Front, which represents 420,000 union members, hopes to reach an agreement with the Legault government by Christmas.
