Celebrity documentaries often offer plenty of intimate details about the lives of our favorite stars, from their relationships — past and present — to their personal struggles with mental health. The latest star to take up these themes in her own film is the former Disney Channel star. Selena Gomezwho had a lot to say on Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.
One of the most talked about parts of the ‘Lose You To Love Me’ hitmaker’s life is her ongoing relationship with the Canadian singer. Justin Bieber, with whom she was linked from 2012 to 2018. On the recently released show, Gomez addresses the pain she felt at having to end their romance in public. “I felt haunted by a previous relationship that no one wanted to let go of, but then I just got over it. I was no longer afraid,” the artist recalls.

“I feel like I had to go through the worst heartbreak ever and then forget it all at once, it was really confusing,” the 30yearold continued. “But I think it had to happen, and at the end of the day it was the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
As you may recall, Bieber and Gomez have been admired by preteens around the world for the last decade, and a lot of drama was sparked online when they split — particularly when the “Baby” artist started a relationship with her came in now. . Wife, Hailey Bieber. And oddly enough, the pair recently posed for a photo together.
Ahead of the documentary’s premiere this week, the Texasborn actress sat down with Rolling Stone for an interview in which she detailed what her life with bipolar disorder was like. “Sometimes I would lie in bed for weeks, even walking down the stairs would take my breath away,” Gomez said, opening up about how bad some of her bouts of depression have gotten. “I thought the world would be better if I wasn’t there,” he added.
Since then, Selena Gomez began taking medication to treat her mental illness, though she revealed that it left her unable to bear her own children, which she described as a “very big and very current thing” in her life.
