SER closes the season again as the most-listened-to radio station

Cadena SER maintains its lead in the second wave of the General Media Study (EGM) 2022 and once again closes the season as the most listened to radio station: it registers 4,140,000 listeners. It is 563,000 listeners ahead of COPE, which reaches 3,577,000; two million away from Onda Cero (2,101,000); and 3.1 million difference to RNE (997,000 followers).

In a year full of news, from the war in Ukraine to the elections in Andalusia and Castilla y León, Àngels Barcelós Hoy por hoy continues to lead mornings with 2,866,000 listeners. Herrera in Cope is more than 124,000 listeners away, in the second option, and Más de uno, by Onda Cero and with Carlos Alsina, is 1,353,000 listeners away from Barceló.

In the afternoon, history repeats itself with The Window by Carles Francino. It ranks first with 910,000 listeners, compared to 628,000 for Julia en la Onda (Onda Cero) and 448,000 for La tarde de Cope.

While Aimar Bretos takes the lead at night with 973,000 followers in the year of the program’s 50th anniversary, when Cope’s lantern gets 858,000 and Onda Cero’s compass gets 390,000.

The news that guides José Antonio Marcos at noon, hour 14, is again the leading news program with 567,000 listeners. And so it is with Javier del Pino’s program A Vivir que se dos dias on weekend mornings: it reaches 2,167,000 listeners on Saturday and 1,787,000 on Sunday.

New leadership in music radio

LOS40 continues to be the most listened to music radio station with 2,783,000 Listeners. Su Anda Ya, with Cristina Boscá and Dani Moreno at the helm, remains the leading wake-up program with 1,591,000 listeners. LOS40 Classic hits its best season and continues to grow, reaching 706,000 listeners. The same is happening with LOS40 Urban, which reaches its best number since its inception in 2020 with 403,000 listeners. Cadena Dial has 1,461,000 listeners and its morning show Atrévete with Luis Larrodera has 920,000 listeners.

As for sport, carousel sport directed by Dani Garrido, reaches 1,687,000 listeners on Saturday and 1,856,000 on Sunday. And El larguero, directed by Manu Carreño, has 733,000 listeners, while Francisco José Delgado’s “Pacojó” with SER Deportivos has 390,000 listeners.

Leading on paper too

In the general press at national level, EL PAÍS maintains its leadership. The newspaper published by PRISA has registered 761,000 daily readers in the EGM in this second wave of the year. It is followed by El Mundo (438,000), La Vanguardia (375,000) and Abc (359,000) and La Razón (141,000). The free 20 minutes, which appear Monday through Friday, reach an average of 293,000 readers. As for sports newspapers, Marca has 859,000 daily readers and PRISA’s As has 395,000. They are followed by Mundo Deportivo (210,000) and Sport (157,000).
