Serena Williams calls on the New York Times to misprint a photo of Sister Venus in an article about her own achievements and calls for “rooted systems that are sadly unaware of their biases”

- Unfortunately, as Williams herself pointed out, the “note paper” used a photo of Williams’ older sister, Venus, to illustrate the story.
- “No matter how far we go, we are reminded that this is not enough,” she wrote. “That’s why I raised $ 111 million for @serenaventures,” she wrote on Twitter

Serena Williams had a forehand strike for the New York Times after an embarrassing mistake made in an article about her new venture capital firm.
The times published a story about the 40-year-old Williams raising $ 111 million for Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm founded by a tennis legend who will “invest in founders with different perspectives.”
Unfortunately, as Williams herself pointed out, the “record” uses a photo of Williams’ older sister, Venus, to illustrate the story.
Serena took over Twitter to vent his irritation from the blunder.
“No matter how far we go, we are reminded that this is not enough,” she wrote. “That’s why I raised $ 111 million for @serenaventures. To support founders who have been neglected by ingrained systems without knowing their biases. Because even I am neglected. You can do better, @nytimes. ‘

The Times responded to Williams shortly afterwards in its own tweet, explaining how the mistake came about.
“It was our fault,” tweeted The Times’ Twitter account. “This is due to an error in choosing photos for the print edition and did not appear online. A correction will appear in tomorrow’s newspaper.
Williams has not yet responded to the apology.
Serena, 41, and Venus have often been together and played in doubles at major tournaments, but Serena has established herself as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.
Williams has 23 Grand Slam titles, the most from any woman, and is the only tennis player, man or woman to win three of the four traditional Grand Slam tournaments at least six times.

Venus, on the other hand, won Wimbledon five times and the US Open twice.
As a doubles team, the Williams sisters have won 13 titles and three Olympic gold medals.
Serena Ventures“Launched earlier this year, she said her goal is to invest in founders who solve everyday problems through unconventional thinking and different perspectives. Writing the check is just the beginning. As Serie A pre-investors, we are real partners.
The company also boasts “an incomparable network of partners in distribution, marketing and sales, which is why the founders continue to choose us.”
Williams told the Times that she has been interested in the space for some time and that it was even part of the way she got in touch with her possible husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanion.
“When I met my husband, this was our first conversation. That’s how we met. I was talking about investment.
