The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov condemned this Friday that his country has been declared a hybrid war and the West has made no secret that its aims are to strangle and destroy the Eurasian nation’s economy.

He said so at a board meeting of the Gorchakov Foundation for the Support of Public Diplomacy the phrase “total war” used by Hitler’s Germany “is used today by many European politicians when discussing what they want to do with Russia.”

According to Lavrov, “Their goals are not hidden and are openly declared: to smash, break, destroy and strangle the Russian economy and Russia as a whole.”

He said that in such a situation it is obvious that values so promoted by the West and so much preached to Russia, such as freedom of expression, the market economy, the inviolability of private property or the presumption of innocence, are worth nothing.

The Russian Foreign Minister noted that despite all the efforts of these countries, it will not be possible to isolate Russia.

“I will say more: we will not isolate ourselves, we have many friends, allies and partners in the world, plus a huge number of partnerships in which Russia cooperates and will continue to cooperate with countries on all continents,” he said he.

This was assured by the head of Russian diplomacy The vast majority of countries in the world will not participate in the West’s “games”, noting the more than 6,300 punitive measures imposed on Russia, mostly after the start of the military operation in Ukraine on February 24.

He also expressed that these nations are interested in the intergovernmental cooperation on an equal footing, based on the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter. First and foremost is the principle of the sovereign equality of states.

The Russian foreign minister explained that despite the propaganda presented at the UN “juggling the number of votes in favor of provocative resolutions”, the vast majority of non-Western countries are opposed to participating “in a one-sided game”, although “they are under enormous Print”.
