According to information from The Elec magazine LG Innotek decided to invest more than one billion euros (in local currency) in new premises. The South Korean company is approached there to design components dedicated to the telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro. Cell phones aren’t sure right now, but we do know that Apple has a habit of unveiling new premium smartphones at the end of the second half of every year. In addition, this subcontractor is not a new employee for the company in the apple: the two have often worked together in the past.
Today the iPhone 14 Pros already come with excellent capabilities on the back with 3x optical zoom. The digital zoom reaches 15x, which is enough to crop wide-angle shots. At the same time, keep in mind that the main sensor of the rear photo module offers an impressive resolution of forty-eight megapixels. This feature is important for getting less grain and much sharper images after shooting or in post-production.
The novelty that will leave a mark?
The system that Apple would have commissioned from LG would be an assembly in “periscope‘ as experts say. This term stands for lenses folded like an accordion, which transfer the optical flow from the motif to the software through an intelligent play of mirrors without any loss of quality. The main advantage of this solution is the space saving, since the glasses no longer have to be aligned, but overlap.
However, this isn’t the first time this change has made headlines, so it looks like Apple has been working on it for a while. And the iPhone 15s should prove to be much more interesting than its predecessors with this improvement. Because between iPhone 14 and iPhone 13, apart from a fairly high price increase, the differences between the two ranges are quite small. But the more powerful telephoto lens could really change the situation, especially since it’s hard to imagine Cupertino raising its prices drastically again.
More novelties on the menu
This is not the only advantage that the iPhone 15’s photo sensor could represent. In fact, other rumors assure that it will offer one better opening for recording large scenes. The recordings should then be clearer, even if the lighting conditions are not optimal, for example at night. A keynote is expected in September to confirm this.
