A 79-year-old retired middle school worker from Michigan faces four years in prison after he was accused of sending sexual text messages and Snapchats to a minor child.
Sue Ann Asch, 79, is accused of sending the messages to a child she knew in September 2023, the same month she retired as an education paraprofessional at Kalkaska Public Schools.
Michigan State Police said Asch turned herself in after a felony warrant was approved for her arrest on Jan. 8.
Investigators then seized several electronic devices from her West Street home.
The devices were sent to the State Police Computer Crimes Unit and a report was submitted to the Kalkaska County Prosecutor's Office for review.
She remains in the Kalkaska County Jail on $5,000 bond ahead of her next scheduled court date on February 12

Police began investigating after interviewing the child at the Traverse City Children's Advocacy Center in September.
Kalkaska Public Schools Superintendent Rick Heitmeyer told upnorthlive.com that Asch had worked for the school district since 2012.
He said she was an assistant professional at Kalkaska Middle School at the time of her retirement in September.
Asch was arraigned Monday in district court on one count of indecent insult to children.
She remains in the Kalkaska County Jail on $5,000 bond ahead of her next scheduled court date on February 12.
