According to a press release, the Israeli army announced on Monday that it had killed “several armed suspects” who entered Israel from Lebanon.

The army had previously claimed that “several suspects entered Israeli territory from Lebanon” and that there were military forces in the area.
“Helicopter helicopters are currently carrying out attacks in the area,” the army added.
A local Lebanese official told AFP that Israel bombed the outskirts of a border village in southern Lebanon.

On Sunday, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, an ally of the Palestinian Hamas and Iran, fired shells into a disputed border area, triggering an Israeli drone strike on one of its positions in the border area in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah denied any involvement in the Israeli army infiltration mentioned on Monday.
“Reports of a clash between members of the resistance (against Israel, editor’s note) and the Israeli enemy or of possible infiltration are unfounded,” said the press office of the pro-Iranian party.
More than 700 people have been killed on the Israeli side and 560 in the Gaza Strip since a surprise Hamas attack on Israeli territory on Saturday, according to reports from both parties.
