Several injured: Baltimore: shooting on university campus zdf.de

Several people were struck by shots fired on a college campus in Baltimore, Maryland. Baltimore police announced Tuesday night (local time) on the online service X (formerly Twitter) that they were on duty for shots fired on the grounds of Morgan State University.

Police spokesman Vernon Davis later told the Baltimore Banner news website that at least four people were shot on the grounds of Morgan State University. There was initially no information available about his condition. Officers are on scene responding to an active shooter. Police asked people to find shelter and avoid the area. “Please stay where you are and avoid the area.”

The university also appealed to students and their families not to stay in the affected area. The university is a historically African-American institution with approximately 9,000 students.

After Tuesday’s shooting, officers cordoned off the south entrance to the campus, near the dormitories, at night, and a police helicopter flew over the complex.
