Trifluvians want to protect themselves from vehicle theft as three Acura RDXs and two Honda CRVs were stolen on Sunday night.

The two Honda vehicles were stolen from the same residence.

A Jeep Wrangler was added to the list on Wednesday.

According to the Trois-Rivières police, there appears to have been an increase in thefts in September.

A total of 154 cars or vans have been reported stolen since January.

At Canadian Tire, the indicator is striking. Anti-theft bars, a protective measure on the steering wheel of a vehicle, are five times more popular with buyers than in 2021, with three months left in 2023.

That’s because criminals don’t catch a break. Several customers of a company that specializes in installing anti-theft systems have reported their misadventures. For example, a man who had his F-150 stolen from his parking lot in the middle of the night.

“[Un homme] The thief lets out a scream to scare him, turns around and says to him: “Go home, you didn’t see us.” The guy replied: Well, let’s see, I won’t let you do that. “The thief replied: “There are four of us. So if you don’t come back, we’ll take you back.” If you call the police, we’ll be gone and so will your truck. “You will call your insurance tomorrow,” said Compac Son owner Mathieu Desrosiers.

Speaking of insurance: This leads to higher premiums, which can burden the policyholder for five to six years.

“If the consumer stops buying other brands of vehicles that are a little too stolen, the manufacturer will not take long to respond. Unless manufacturers are challenged by a decline in vehicle sales, these people will sell a new vehicle for every theft,” said insurance expert Louis Cyr.
