Multiple people were shot during an active shooter at Morgan State University in Maryland.

Baltimore police ordered students and locals to stay indoors after at least four people were hit by gunfire Tuesday night. The situation is still ongoing.

It is understood the first 911 call was made at 9:28 p.m. after bullets were fired in one of the campus dining halls.

Police said in a statement: “BPD is on the scene of an active shooting in the 1700 block of Argonne Drive.”

“We ask everyone to shelter in place and avoid the area.”

The college asked students to avoid Thurgood Marshall Hall – a residence hall with an attached dining hall – and the Murphy Fine Arts Center.

Spokesman Vernon Davis confirmed that there were at least four victims, but their conditions were not yet known.

Morgan State University said in a statement: “There is currently an active investigation related to a report of shots fired on or near campus.”

“Please stay away from the area around Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center and shelter in place.”
