Famous couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have joined many others in writing to express their support for actor Danny Masterson, who was convicted of sexual assault.

The American actor and member of the Church of Scientology, known for his role in the series “That ’70s Show”, was sentenced on Thursday by a court in Los Angeles to 30 years in prison for two rapes, reports the France-Presse agency.

The alleged acts allegedly occurred between 2001 and 2003 at the actor’s home against three women, two of whom received jury support.
According to Variety, Kutcher and Kunis joined forces in a letter to the judge in the 47-year-old actor’s trial to reduce his sentence.
In his letter, Ashton Kutcher calls Masterson a “role model,” while his partner Mila Kunis vouches for Danny Masterson’s “extraordinary character.”
“While I understand that the verdict found him guilty of two counts of forcible rape and that the victims have a strong desire for justice, I hope that my testimony about his character will be taken into account in the sentencing,” Kutcher’s statement said Letter.
“I do not believe that he represents a lasting harm to society and that the fact that his daughter grows up without her father’s presence would be a third injustice in itself.” Thank you for taking the time to comment on this read.”
Kunis’ letter adds: “I fully vouch for the extraordinary character of Danny Masterson and the tremendous positive influence he had on me and those around him.” His commitment to living a drug-free life and his genuine care for others make him an exceptional role model and friend.”
