A Quebec man admitted Friday to having numerous sexual relationships with a 13-year-old girl who was his son’s girlfriend. About twenty events of a sexual nature occurred, including five full relationships.
The defendant, who cannot be identified to protect the victim’s identity, took advantage of the victim’s trust to abuse her.
The teenager knew the attacker through his 12-year-old son, with whom she began a romantic relationship. At some point, the defendant and his son saw the young girl and her mother almost daily, sometimes in the park, sometimes in their respective homes. A relationship of trust has developed between the two families.
At the same time, a closeness developed between the man and the young girl, who was not close to her own father. Crown prosecutor Me Geneviève Corriveau said on Friday that she saw the defendant as a father figure.
However, a young adolescent’s confidences gave way to sexual contacts that spanned a period of one year between June 2020 and August 2021.

The defendant admitted around twenty contacts of any kind on Friday.
The nomenclature made by the prosecutor allows us to understand the extent of the sexual acts that took place between the 13-year-old girl: touching of intimate areas, fellatio, cunnilingus, digital penetration and full sexual relations with vaginal penetration without a condom. and the man in his late thirties.
“The reports took place at the defendant’s home, at his mother’s house and once in a wooded area in a park,” Mr Corriveau said.
The defendant also exchanged sexual comments with the teenager via text message and shared intimate images.

Since her daughter was apparently not doing well, the victim’s mother asked her at the end of summer 2021 to block the defendant from her contacts on social networks. The teenager also ends the relationship she had with her attacker’s son.
However, she only informed her mother about the sexual abuse in November and a file will be opened with the police in February 2022. In April, authorities arrested the suspect, who admitted to most of the crimes.
“He also indicated that he was in love with the complainant,” emphasized the representative of the public prosecutor’s office when recording the plea on Friday.
The Quebec resident pleaded guilty to four counts: sexual contact with a minor, incitement to have sexual contact with a minor, enticement and providing sexually explicit material to a child.
Testimony follows
The file will be returned in January to set the date for comments on the judgment. It is already planned that the young person will testify at this point about the consequences of the crime on her life and the circumstances of the crimes.
A preliminary report with a sexological component was also required.
The defendant faces a maximum sentence of 14 years for the crimes he is known to have committed.
