The Illinois native’s take on romance has been a hot topic since the second season of Love Is Blind aired last month.
During the season, the DJ was often criticized for putting a lot of emphasis on physical appearance, especially as the show’s premise revolves around contestants getting to know each other without seeing what they look like. While his romance with Vempati, 31, initially got off to a rocky start when he tried to figure out her weight, the couple seemed to find a footing and fell in love after Chatterjee explained their body image insecurities. Unbeknownst to Vempati at the time, the polarizing television personality was telling his co-stars that he was not attracted to her.
She ended up leaving him at the altar a few days after he revealed his true feelings.
The controversial contestant made headlines again after a season two reunion aired earlier this month, during which he discussed his thoughts on attractiveness and revealed that he’s attracted to the role of host. Vanessa Lachey – who is her husband and co-host, Nick Lacheydoesn’t seem to appreciate it.

The veterinarian called attraction instinctive. “We are animals,” he explained.
“No, you treat animals,” the 98 Degrees singer retorted. “We are people.”
As for his relationship with Vempati today, there doesn’t seem to be any at all. “He lacks self-awareness in a social setting or even how to talk to people,” she told Us Weekly on March 4. “You know what? I realized that this is no longer my problem and I don’t have to deal with it. I think we’re on two completely different paths.”
On March 9, Chatterjee apologized to his ex-fiancee via Instagram.
“Dipti, I really regret some of the things I said. Things that honestly could just be left unsaid or said differently. Things that should never have been on national TV,” he wrote. “I am very, very sorry that I hurt you with my words. This is the last thing I wanted from all this. I’m sorry Deepti.
