A post on his Instagram account reads: “This song was cathartic for me and I never thought that at the age of 45 I could still be number one in the world with a song in Spanish”.
After discovering her ex-husband Gérard Piqué’s infidelity thanks to a jar of jam last December, she decided to take revenge with music.
The Colombian singer describes her song as an anthem to “Women who stand tall”.
The simple guy intentionally makes fun of his ex-partner and his new flame.
She sings: “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio,” which translates to “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. They traded in a Rolex for a Casio.
Within 24 hours of the song’s release, the video for the track racked up 63 million views on YouTube, making it the most viewed Latin song in the platform’s history.
It also became the most streamed song on Spotify after racking up 14.4 million views on the audio streaming service in just 24 hours.
