While Montreal Canadiens fans can be grumpy when their favorite club is in trouble, fans of losing teams on the New York side have a very short fuse, and Giants fans were clearly reminded of that at Monday night’s game at MetLife Stadium.
The sports market, considered one of the most demanding in the world, is currently quite hot. The Yankees’ season ended Sunday despite a staggering payroll. As for the Rangers, fans are calling for the departure of Quebec forward Alexis Lafrenière, who has disappointed since his debut in professional ice hockey. And in football, hope has given way to dismay.

While the Jets’ season was likely derailed by Aaron Rodgers’ injury in the first game of the year, the Giants are an embarrassment to their fans. In their first two home games they were humbled with a combined score of 64:3. That was too much for many spectators in the 24-3 defeat against the Seattle Seahawks.
While some left the stadium midway through the third quarter at the general sluggishness of the Giants’ offensive line and its fulcrum Daniel Jones, others did not hide their anger. Brown bags could already be seen in the stands and the faces of sad and disappointed people could be seen throughout the evening.
Fans also grabbed attention with their reactions, which meant everything: a complete lack of reaction to the Giants’ problems with being without their star half, Saquon Barkley.
And the rest doesn’t look rosy, as the New York team will play its next two games against the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills, strong opponents in the Eastern Section of the NFL’s American Association, who have an identical record of 3-1.
