Shannen Doherty says she's looking forward to ending a “tumultuous” year full of “some massive health issues, some massive personal issues” and “a lot of heartache and anxiety.”
Doherty, 52, said on her podcast “Let's Be Clear” on Monday that she was “just so grateful to actually be here” after battling cancer for eight years.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star appeared over the holidays alongside her mother Rosa Doherty on her podcast, which she launched earlier this month.
“This year is about just being incredibly grateful that we are here and we get to spend time with the people who are by our side through thick and thin, who don't just walk away, who love us unconditionally and who “They have the same beliefs, morals and standards and people of character,” Doherty said.
Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh on the Fox hit from 1990 to 1994, said she “even stayed on schedule.” [her] Cancer infusions where [she] I would fully recover from it at Christmas.'

Doherty said she was “so grateful to really be here” after battling cancer for eight years
Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and in February 2020 she said she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.
Doherty shared a clip on social media in June from Jan. 16, 2023, in which she headed for surgery to remove a tumor from her head.
Also in January, Doherty and her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko separated, and she announced that they were divorcing in April due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Doherty claimed Iswarienko, to whom she had been married since 2011, had been unfaithful to her, which he denied. Doherty has been married twice in the past: to Ashley Hamilton from 1993 to 1994 and to Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003.
Doherty said Monday that despite the series of obstacles, she is in a peaceful place as 2023 “ended well” for her.
“What I found out about all of this… I actually said this to myself the other night: 'God, I think I'm actually starting to live the happiest version of myself,'” Doherty said.
She continued: “Even though it's been such a contentious year for me, for some reason I feel like it's become a lot more relaxed and a lot more positive lately.”
Doherty said that her heart has “opened up again” and that “next year will be beautiful.”

On a lighter note, Doherty, who also starred on the series “Charmed” from 1998 to 2001, stirred up some controversy with her new podcast after she said earlier this month that Alyssa Milano and her family had “a strange rift.” She and Holly Marie had raised Combs on the set of the WB show.
Doherty played the role of Prue Halliwell in 67 episodes of the WB show Charmed from 1998 to 2001, leaving after the third of the series' eight seasons.
Combs, 50, said producers told her that Milano had given an ultimatum that either she or Doherty should leave the show and threatened legal action over a hostile work environment.
She added: “There are actually people who behave badly and get away scot-free.” “I don't think people understand that this never happened here.”
