‘Missing you so much little girl…please take care of us’: Bucs star Shaq Barrett posts a heartbreaking social media tribute to his baby daughter, 2, who drowned in the family pool
Shaq Barrett has posted a heartbreaking tribute to his two-year-old daughter Arrayah, who recently drowned after falling into the family pool.
He captioned a video showing the pair: “I miss you so much baby. I love you, please take care of us.’
According to the Tampa Police Department, police were responding to a call from a child who fell into a pool around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 30 in Tampa’s Beach Park area.
Arrayah Barrett, who celebrated her second birthday on April 19, was taken to the hospital but attempts to save her life were unsuccessful.
Arrayah was the youngest of four children the Baltimore-born Barrett has with his wife Jordanna.
Tom Brady was leading the tributes for his former Bucs teammate Barrett when news of Arrayah’s death broke.
Brady posted a photo of Barrett, his wife Jordanna, their four children and their dog to his Instagram account, adding the emotional message, “The Bradys love you.”
Barrett, 30, has played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 2019. Brady, 45, joined the team the following year.
Arrayah was the youngest of four children the Baltimore-born Barrett has with his wife Jordanna.
Weeks before her death, Arrayah turned two and in a photo shared to Instagram to mark her daughter’s second birthday, Jordanna wrote, “Happy second birthday my little Arrayah Sunshine!”
‘We love you so much! You are the completion of our family, the apple of our eyes! You have become the funniest, most energetic, most entertaining, sweetest, kindest, smartest and most precious little girl we could ever dream of!
“Your big sister, your big brothers, and mom and dad love you to the moon and back.”
“Happy Birthday, Arrayah Sue.”
Jordanna shared a post in honor of her daughter on Instagram on May 3, in which she wrote an emotional statement along with a touching photo of Arrayah beaming on her recent birthday.
“Thank you everyone for all the messages, flowers, thoughts and prayers,” Jordanna said in a statement.
“Our world will never be the same.” Arrayah was the apple of my eye and my heart will be with her forever.
‘I love you so much, my baby. I am so sorry. Until we meet again, please take care of your siblings and mom and dad. We love you forever and ever and always.
“I can’t wait to see that precious smile and just hug you so tight.” I would do absolutely anything. There is no Barrett 6 without you and we will keep your place down here forever until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and ever.’
