Living in a motorhome or caravan probably doesn't always have a positive connotation among the wealthiest class. But that perception apparently didn't stop “Shark Tank” businesswoman and real estate entrepreneur Barbara Corcoran from buying a double-wide trailer in Los Angeles.

She recently showed TikTok star Caleb Simpson her mobile home in a video tour. Corcoran gave the TikTok star a tour of her Manhattan apartment, which she also owns, about a year ago.

The Pacific Palisades trailer cost Corcoran $800,000 and she said she put another $150,000 into its construction.

For comparison, the average price of a new double-wide trailer in the U.S. is between $120,000 and $160,000, including delivery, according to HomeGuide. So yes: Corcoran's renos cost more than many mobile homes.

During this tour, Corcoran told Simpson, “This is my Taj Mahal – everything is small.” The interior offers a light, airy and elegant atmosphere and features an open boho aesthetic. The unit has two and a half bedrooms and two bathrooms. Outside there is a large terrace, big enough for a few lounge chairs, as well as a dining table and chairs for eight people.

How did Corcoran get this premium trailer? She knew the park and loved the view, so she knocked on the owner's door and asked him to sell it.

The owner told Corcoran that she was not interested in selling at the moment. “I’ll sell in a year,” she told the businesswoman. Corcoran then convinced the owner to sell immediately by promising that she could use the device whenever she wanted for the rest of her life – a deal that was hard to refuse.

In retrospect, Simpson said, “I think I like this better than the house in New York City.” Corcoran replied, “I do too.” It's clear that Corcoran has fallen in love with her double-wide hotel and is ready was to pay top dollar for the fancy accommodations, the renovations and the million-dollar views.

The story goes on
