Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan are a mother-son con duo who set their sights on a billionaire family in the new A24 movie on Apple TV Plus.
Set in New York City, Madeline (Moore) meets billionaire Richard Hobbes, played by John Lithgow, and she sets her sights on him as her next target to extort billions of dollars from him.
She enlists the help of her disgraced son Max (Stan) to steal the money. Max then develops his own angle on the scam, using the billionaire’s son Tom, played by Justice Smith, to get it.

As the plan begins to unfold, the lies begin to catch up with the characters, and their ambitions for money and power may be overshadowed by lust and jealousy.
The trailer’s opening tag features Richard’s character saying, “Let me give you some advice. If you’re going to steal, then steal a lot.’

Richard then confides in Madeline at his home, saying, “I always assumed my son would inherit it all. He doesn’t have the bravery. He’s weak,” while Max listens from the other room.
Madeline and Max’s plans are soon revealed when Max says, “You kinda like him,” and she replies, “Of course I do. He’s a billionaire.”

Later in the preview, Sandra, played by Briana Middleton, arrives at a restaurant to meet and “celebrate” Max. It then cuts to a shot of her picking up a newspaper with a photo of Richard and Madeline together and a photo of Tom underneath.
Max then says to her: “Roll up your sleeves. Trust me. You can’t cheat on an honest man, so we never feel sorry for the target,” follows a montage by Sandra, which makes Tom fall in love with her.
At the end of the preview, the words “Can You Read Between The Lies” appear on screen as the characters delve deeper into their schemes and lies.
