A tourist from Singapore died on December 22, 2023 in New York state. The 39-year-old suffered a serious fall while climbing a cliff to take photos.
The wrong step proved fatal. On Friday, a tourist from Singapore lost her life after falling from a cliff in upstate New York, local police said in a statement.
Only Aisyah Binte MD Akbar had 49 years. She was traveling with her partner Abdul Rauf Bin Mohd Said, 41. He was the one who contacted emergency services on Friday.
Accidental fall
On Friday, the couple strolled the hills of Beacon Hill in upstate New York. Halfway there, they decided to stop to enjoy the view take some Picturesa stop that ended in a terrible accident.
As Nur Aisyah Binte MD Akbar approached the twenty-meter-high abyss, she “lost her footing” and slipped into the depths.
The abyss was 70 feet high, or about twenty meters. Steep, the sections of the cliff are partly rocky, partly dotted with boxwood, but still remain particularly dangerous. While crossing the guard rails, the victim was seriously injured when he fell.
The victim died from his injuries
Taken into care by the authorities, the forty-year-old was in one critical condition when help came. The police, forest rangers and fire brigade intervened at midday.
She was taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital where she died from her injuries. An investigation has been launched.
