An Amber Alert launched by authorities last week to find a 3-year-old boy in North Carolina not only had the desired effect, but also reportedly allowed a young woman to discover her partner’s extramarital affairs.
“If he hadn’t received an Amber Alert, I would never have known about it. I probably would have married this man if he behaved like that and was capable of this kind of behavior […] I feel like Amber Alert just saved my life,” Charlotte resident Nichole Christine said Saturday in a video that has been viewed more than 2.5 million times on TikTok, the New York Post reported.
On Oct. 18, the North Carolina woman was at home waiting for her partner, who was usually out with friends, when the Amber Alert was reported for a 3-year-old boy and a 33-year-old woman using devices in the home.
Except that when he wanted to turn off his partner’s Apple smartwatch, which he had forgotten at home, a text message from his lover appeared at the same time, telling him that she had “already missed him”.
“I was in shock and completely numb. “We had been together for more than a year and were planning to get married,” the 30-year-old continued, according to the American newspaper.
By confronting her partner, she would have found out that he had been in a relationship with the other woman for several weeks and that he was also thinking about five other relationships while they were together, she would have confided in the NY Post.
“Grateful” for the warning, the woman believes she narrowly escaped.
“I’m so sorry! This just happened to me too. The universe intervened just in time. Get tested [pour les maladies transmissibles sexuellement] and send him the bill,” one user advised in the comments.
The 3-year-old boy was found safe and sound.
