A young woman from Australia has found an unusual way to make money.
Monique Jeremiah, 36, decided to rent out the other half of her bed to strangers to survive the housing crisis.
This increasingly common practice is called “hot bedding.”
“Hot bedding is great for people who want to emotionally detach and sleep next to another person in a completely respectful and unattached way,” Monique Jeremiah told CastersNews.

Monique says this can be a very lucrative trend provided both parties agree on the terms of the contract.
In her opinion, it is the same principle as sharing a room with two beds, but with only one bed. However, she states that a large bed and bedroom are necessary so that everyone has their own personal space.
So she charges $160 a week and $640 a month for the other half of her bed.
In view of the increasing demand and, in particular, the continuing rise in inflation in Australia, people are even considering a price increase.
“It’s the ideal situation, especially if you’re sapiosexual like me and prefer someone’s company to a physical relationship,” says Monique Jeremiah
