The secret of Justine Jotham And Patricia Charlemagne it fascinated the French for several days. Then, within a few hours, the mystery found its most unexpected solution. Who killed Charlemagne, 51 years old, professor at the University of Dunkirk in the north of France, his beautiful wife Justine Jotham, 37 years old, was a writer and politically active as a local councilor. The two had a little girl who is now 20 months old. After a day in custody, the woman confessed: The inconsistencies in her story had actually made the investigators suspicious.
The denunciation and the escape
On the night of September 17th to 18th at 4 a.m. Justine called the police in a horrified voice: claims to have fled with the little girl in his arms during a robbery. She said the robbers surprised her and her husband at Rosendael’s home in the residential suburb of Dunkirk. The husband had remained in the house and the officers who rushed to the scene found him in a pool of blood in a room on the first floor along with about ten people Stab wounds to the chest, neck and carotid artery. The robbery hypothesis had immediately raised doubts among investigators and prosecutor Charlotte Huet had announced that Justine’s version would be verified by examining the evidence. They were also screened Mobile phones of the two spouses. Two bloody knives, a flashlight, a pair of gloves and a computer were found at the crime scene, which bore little resemblance to a robbery given the killer’s anger at the victim’s body.
The cut on the hand that held Justine prisoner
Justine was framed by a cut on her hand that exactly matched the cut on one of the gloves found on site. Analysis of the contents of the cell phones revealed that there were strong tensions between the couple. And Professor Charlemagne had often talked about his problems with Justine with friends and family. The couple was quite well known in the city; Justine is a writer and has written numerous works of children’s literature. “Returning home with our little girl after a week – Justine wrote on her Facebook page on January 12, 2022, after the birth of the little girl – an endless joy! She arrived on December 31st and since that day her father and I have been the happiest people. The little girl was eagerly awaited. An allusion to the “long years of artificial insemination” that the two had resorted to because Justine couldn’t get pregnant. After the woman’s confession was announced, investigators emphasized that “Despite her statements, Justine Jotham is still considered innocent and the investigation will continue.”
