SheHulk discovers that “not every man” wants his harm…just Josh te

Jen Walters (Tatyana Maslany) has every reason to be suspicious of the men around him. If before turning in She Hulk She has already dealt with machismo in her professional environment, with colleagues such as Dennis Bukowski (Drew Matthews) doubted her ability despite proving herself time and time again, and with at least suspicious approaches like the notsoinnocent “Flirt” in the premiere episode, things got even tougher after she’d gone gigantic and green. The hatred on the networks for what they called “another heroine”, the fetish and the desire to make her a guinea pig only increased the feeling that being vulnerable around her and the advocate is risky increased their vigilance.

So when Josh (Trevor Salter) showed up at her “friend’s” wedding, it seemed like she finally found someone nice. Not that Jen didn’t know that “not every man” is an asshole, because she lives with really nice guys like Pug (Josh Segarra) and his father (Mark Linn Baker) which, let’s face it, is pretty counterintuitive. But for the first time, someone has shown a romantic interest in themselves without power and media attention. Unfortunately, the frustration returned in The Retreat, but if it was of any use, it should show once and for all that the heroine can allow herself a little vulnerability.

Far be it from me, you see, to downplay the reveal at the end of the episode: the fact that Josh works for the mysterious HulkKing and took advantage of the night to get the blood sample is annoying on so many levels because more serious than the breach of trust . , the materialization is that the threats to SheHulk’s life have suddenly become very real. However, the series uses the thenbeau’s initial disappearance as an opportunity to get the protagonist to open up. After all, she even distanced herself from the audience in this episode. In the forms of the abominable (Timo Roth) and the reformed leader of the Wrecking Crew (Nick Gomez), two people she might not want to make public given her recent history against her and her family, she finds support and takes another step toward fully accepting herself. Who would have thought that Emil Blonsky’s retreat, a place where motivational phrases like “today is today” would really have an effect?

Now Jen/SheHulk is not only more confident than ever to face her opponents, she also has a new legion of allies. If they were willing to get their hands on Josh, if they thought all he had done was haunt them, now imagine that? There’s also the always loyal and smart Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga), Wong (Benedict Wong) and the most anticipated appearance of the season: Daredevil (Charlie Cox). Josh and the HulkKing get ready because Jen is definitely not alone.
