What better way to track back-to-back Emmy and Golden Globe wins than with a song? After adding some big trophies to her case this awards season, Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph appears to be heading to next month’s Super Bowl LVII, where she will perform “Lift Every Voice And Sing” before the big game begins .
“Come on now. Never give up baby!” Lee shares about her Social Media. “I’ll be singing Lift Every Voice and singing at Super Bowl LVII – see you there.”
Ralph can now count her name as part of an already highly anticipated Super Bowl lineup, led by Rihanna. Back in September, the elusive pop artist teased fans with a photo of her intricately tattooed hand waving a soccer ball – just hours later, Variety confirmed she would be performing this year’s halftime show. Alongside RiRi, Chris Stapleton will sing the national anthem, while 12-time Grammy winner Babyface will provide a rendition of “America The Beautiful.”
The importance of performing alongside Rihanna wasn’t lost on Ralph either tweeted out Her excitement at being in the pop star’s company wrote: “What an honor and thank you RiRi!”
Despite her signature radiant humbleness, Ralph is still only the second-biggest Rihanna fan waiting for the February 12 performance — the top spot goes to her partner and co-parent A$AP Rocky. During an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe on Jan. 18, Rocky claimed that he’s “more excited than anyone” for Rihanna’s return.
