Maria Mendes has been waiting to see her favorite artist perform for a long time. She finally bought her tickets to Taylor Swift’s November 18 concert in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil at the last minute.
On the morning of the concert, the young woman reported feeling pain, but suspected it was just cramps due to her menstrual cycle. Thinking she was fit enough to go to the show, she went to the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium.
“It was a pain that came and went, but I never believed it was pregnancy pain,” she claims.
However, the pain got worse when she reached her seat. Then, during the show, she went into the bathroom where her water suddenly broke.
Maria was quickly taken by ambulance to the hospital, where doctors performed an ultrasound scan. The 24-year-old woman was transferred to a maternity hospital where she gave birth to a baby girl.
“When my water broke and I went to the hospital, I felt like the baby was already ready to come out. When the doctor did the ultrasound, I got confirmation and told me that there was a 100% chance that I was 40 weeks pregnant,” explains the young mother.
“It was a total surprise. I still had my period. Nothing made me think I was pregnant,” she adds.
Maria Mendes says she never stopped working before giving birth. In addition, photos taken after physical training in October did not show a pregnant belly.

Maria, Maria Flor and Taylor
Although the young mother’s medical staff suggested the name Taylor for her child in honor of the singer and in memory of her birth story, Maria says she had had a name in mind for a year. Good time for his possible first daughter.
The little girl is therefore named Maria Flor.
