Shia LaBeouf is trying to “stay afloat.”

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Wednesday, the 37-year-old “Transformers” star expressed his gratitude for the roles he landed after his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs accused him of assault. The actor met the British artist in 2019 while filming the biopic “Honey Boy”. They reportedly started dating soon after. The relationship lasted a year before the musician filed a lawsuit in 2020 accusing Shia LaBeouf of sexual assault, emotional distress, and physical and verbal abuse.
Shia LaBeouf has denied his ex’s allegations and a trial is scheduled to take place in 2024. Meanwhile, the comedian starred in David Mamet’s play “Henry Johnson.”
“I’m lucky enough to actually be able to play,” he said. When you spend all your time reading about how the internet sees you, you forget about all the love there is in the world. If you have an alcoholic, short-sighted, or obsessive mind, it’s very easy to write these stories that make you give up. I tend to find fault and my attitude is already negative. So when my life is a bit negative, it’s really hard to stay afloat. »
And added: “For professional and psychological reasons, it’s cool to be here. But it’s also surprising because I thought I didn’t have a tape.”
“As our program says, one day you wake up and realize that you have 50 people driving for you in your life, which wasn’t the case before. This is the fruit of all this. I can’t talk about it much, but it is what it is,” he said.
