Shipwreck Gabs: No trace of the cargo of 750 tons of diesel!
No trace was found of the cargo of 750 tons of diesel transported by the tanker Xelo, which sank off the coast of Gabès in south-eastern Tunisia.
This was announced on Friday, April 22, 2022 by Mazri Latif, a Tunisian Navy official responsible for overseeing the urgent intervention to counter pollution incidents at sea, during an emergency conference.
The rear admiral said the divers found nothing in the ship’s tanks, without giving any further explanation. After the sinking, Tunisian authorities announced that Xelo – flying the flag of Equatorial Guinea – had left the port of Damietta in Egypt with a cargo of 750 tons of diesel.
