Authorities in the Dominican Republic are searching for the father of Major Leaguer Miguel Sanó after he shot and killed his former girlfriend and injured two other people.

Footage from a surveillance camera showed the moment Ricardo Sanó confronted 36-year-old Yajaira Henderson in a shop in the city of San Pedro de Macoris, where she was celebrating her sister’s birthday, and shot her at point blank range.

Dominican National Police said Ricardo Sanó dragged Henderson out of the store and got into a heated argument after telling him she would not go with him.

Security camera showed the gunman exchanging words with Henderson’s group before turning and shooting dead Yuly Guerrero, 28, and Juan Delgado, 35.

A terrified Henderson could be seen on the sidewalk as Ricardo Sanó walked over, aimed the gun and fired at her three times.

The cold-blooded killer then got on his moped and sped away.

has reached out to Miguel Sanó and Octagon, the sports agency that represents him, for comment.

The 27-year-old became a free agent in November 2022 after refusing to exercise the club option on his contract with the Minnesota Twins. He was scheduled to hold a multi-team showcase on February 2, according to SKOR North.

Sanó, who spent 12 seasons in the Twins organization, suffered two knee injuries in 2022 and was limited to just 20 games. He hit .083 with a home run in 71 plate appearances.
