Shohei Ohtani has another phenomenal season.
The Japanese set a record Wednesday night by becoming the first player in history to accumulate 10 wins and 40 homers in the same year.
Thanks to the 4-1 win over the San Francisco Giants (see the highlights in the video above)The Los Angeles Angels star also surpassed Babe Ruth’s mark by hitting 10 wins and 10 homers for the second time in his career. Ruth had managed this feat only once, in 1918.
In six innings against the Giants, Ohtani (10-5) allowed just three hits and no earned runs.
Last Thursday, he hit his 40th home run against the Seattle Mariners. He has 83 RBIs in 114 games since the start of the season.
Despite Ohtani’s skill, the Angels are only playing at .500 (58-58). They are currently seven games away from last place to enter the playoffs.
