Shooting attack kills more than 10 and injures dozens in US G1

In a shooting attack in Lewiston, Maine, USA, this Wednesday (25), at least 16 people were killed and 50 and 60 were injured, according to CNN. According to Fox News, 22 people died.

The suspect in the attack is at large, police said.

Lewiston police said in a Facebook post that it was an active shooter incident at Schemengees Bar and Grille and Sparetime Recreation, a bowling alley.

“Please stay off the roads to allow emergency responders access to hospitals,” police said.

A state health network says it is responding to a mass shooting. “Central Maine Healthcare is coordinating with area hospitals to accept patients,” it said in a statement.

The attack prompted the government to warn residents to seek safe places and not leave their homes. Shops and businesses were also advised to close their doors.

According to police, there is evidence that the shooter acted in two different locations, including a bar and a recreational area. The investigation is investigating whether another criminal was involved in the attack.
