A man was injured after being hit by multiple gunshots in a public place in the middle of a restaurant in Laval on Thursday evening.

The shooter entered Rubs BBQ American restaurant on Dagenais Street West around 7 p.m. He specifically targeted a man.
He shot several times in his direction.

The man, in his 40s, was injured and transported to a hospital center but there is no fear for his life.
Several customers were sitting in the middle of dinner time when the violent incident unfolded before their eyes and the eyes of staff.
No other person was injured. The police are trying to find out who the suspect or suspects are.
TVA Nouvelles met the owner of the premises, Stéphane Pelletier, who could see the scene on the surveillance camera images.
“He was completely masked and dressed in black. He came back and walked towards a person, he shot him three times. He came out,” says the restaurateur.

“He didn’t attack anyone, there were other people sitting on the bench with the person who was shot and he didn’t attack them. It’s a completely isolated situation,” stresses Mr. Pelletier.
The restaurateur has put his employees, who have witnessed the scene all weekend, on leave, they are in shock.

“They are completely traumatized by it. It affects me a lot because I find … well, definitely … it’s difficult to manage,” says Stéphane Pelletier.
Despite it all, he rolled up his sleeves and opted to open his restaurant the day after the events.
“It has nothing to do with our business, we are four partners in this business, we do our best to make our business profitable like everyone else,” he adds.
