The well-known Neapolitan actor and director Alessandro Siani gave an interview to the microphones of the editorial staff of Il Corriere della Sera. Among other things, the comedian revealed a background to the city’s idol par excellence Naples, Diego Armando Maradona.
Siani worked with him on the show of the late Argentine al San Carlo Theaterwhich took place in 2017. Below what the actor revealed:
“For us, Maradona is an example of greatness. I met him, Pino Daniele, Luciano De Crescenzo, I understood that they had a common matrix: the fact of intercepting people’s thoughts even among a thousand contrasts and a thousand problems. Maradona I directed him in a show at the San Carlo, before Diego went on stage he was pensive in the dressing room. He said to me: I’m afraid, I’m afraid of disappointing people. He, Maradona. But the thought was always the same, the people. He didn’t hide his weaknesses and was a giant at the same time.”
Siani also told how he met Pino Danieleanother symbol of the city, always in the heart of Neapolitans:
“He was the one who told me he wanted to meet me, invited me to his house and wrote me the soundtrack for a movie without asking for any money. I carry within me the days with him, his stories; I’ve met all the family, I still feel the kids; this atmosphere was formative for my growth”.
