There are two categories of cats: those who get along on their own and never ask for help, and those who are not afraid to do so knock on houses from someone for a welcoming shelter. Each cat has its own story, just like Aslan, an orange cat who appeared out of nowhere, cold and sick, looking for shelter and a place to call home.

The Story of Aslan: The orange cat knocks on the window seeking salvation

Aslan It is a European stray cat Orange, who did his best to get by as much as possible. But life challenged him more than the little cat could handle. There was only one thing left for him to do: knock on windows in the neighborhood and ask for help. His little love miracle happens just in time on Valentine’s Day.

On February 14, a woman, Jaelle, heard strange noises coming from outside her home. She immediately went outside to investigate and found the orange tabby in the snow, pawing at her door and meowing frantically. The woman immediately took action to help the poor cat in need: she took a photo and contacted Marie Simard, the founder of Un Chat à la Fois, a Rescue center for cats in Quebec, Canada. After 30 minutes, the volunteer was already at Jaelle’s front door.

Together, the two took the orange cat to the vet for a full examination, and since she was so calm and supple, they immediately realized that what they were looking at was not a stray cat, but one abandoned cat. The volunteer renamed the cat Aslan, in honor of the lion from the Chronicles of Narnia series. Aslan was not gifted Microchip and he wasn’t neutered, but it was obvious he had lived in the house up until that point. However, the searches had led to nothing.

The visit of vet had discovered that Aslan was not only frozen to death, but also had rotten teeth, a bite wound, fleas, worms, diabetes and skin allergies. He had to stay in the hospital for a few days to stabilize before going to his adoptive family. Many had recommended euthanasia given his poor condition, but the two volunteers did not want to give up on Aslan.

The orange cat was grateful for her rescue and never stopped fighting for a day. Between love, cuddles and veterinary care, the cat faced an increasingly long journey to recovery. In a few days, Aslan he recovered and was ready to end his recovery period in a nursing home, i.e. with his rescuer Jaelle. A foster family then became forever when Jaelle fell in love with the sweet orange cat.
