Sidney Crosby hasn’t forgotten the Oceanic

No player has shaped the history of the Rimouski Océanic like Sidney Crosby, and even though he hasn’t been with the organization for nearly two decades, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain still seems to have a special affection for his junior club.

On Wednesday, Crosby was photographed with some players from the Robert Morris University women’s team in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. We immediately notice that the 36-year-old ice hockey player is wearing a jacket with the Océanic logo.

Crosby has never hidden his love for the Rimouski team, which is not far from his home province of Nova Scotia. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team allowed him to break onto the national scene and the rest is history.

In September 2019, Océanic removed the famous number 87 from its previous colors. Like the Colisée Financière Sun Life, Crosby still retains traces of his time in Bas-Saint-Laurent.
