Miller, who was on and off with Law from 2003 to 2011, starred as Edie Sedgwick in the 2006 Weinstein-backed drama Factory Girl.

“I called Harvey ‘Pops’ from day one, which certainly helped,” Miller said, noting the non-sexual connotations of the moniker.

Miller, who plays Sophie Whitehouse in the new Netflix miniseries Anatomy of a Scandal, told the outlet Weinstein once berated her for her active social life when she was not on set.

“I was rehearsing with Steve Buscemi one day and Harvey called and asked me to come to his office,” Miller told the outlet. ‘I said, “I’m in rehearsal.” And he cried, “Now!” and sent a car.

“He sat me in his office and said, ‘You don’t fucking go out anymore, you don’t party anymore, rah rah rah. I had a lot of fun but managed to get to work on time. And he stood over me while I sat in a chair with trembling lips and then he slammed the door and I burst into tears.’

The Golden Globe-nominated actress said Weinstein then came back into the room and told her, “It’s because I’m f***ing proud of you,” and slammed the door a second time when he was gone.

Miller said she viewed the incident as a rite of passage, adding, “You weren’t really privy to it until Weinstein made you cry.”

She continued, “I imagined Hollywood producers were like that. I really felt that he had given me the greatest validation. I was so thankful. Actually, I wasn’t afraid of him.

“And I wasn’t aware that he was raping people. He asked to meet me at a hotel and I brought the other producers and it was harmless. I’ve never been suggested for a job by anyone.’
